The Tatran Gallery was founded in 1960 with headquarters at Starý Smokovec. Today is has its seat at Poprad.
The gallery is building up its collection of works of art with the topic of the High Tatras, a collection of regional art of the subtatran and Spiš region and a collection of 20th century Slovak art, with stress on art of east-Slovak provenience.
