  • Turcianske Teplice
Town Turcianske Teplice is the centre of Upper Turiec. Its greatest riches are the mineral sources and the thermal waters, which were mentioned already in 1281.
Parts of Turcianske Teplice are local wards Diviaky, Turciansky Michal and Dolna Stubna.
The oldest historical object is the Roman-Catholic Church of St Michal in Turčiansky Michal from the year 1264...
  • Galéria Mikuláša Galandu
The Mikulas Galanda House at Turčianske Teplice is a permanent exhibition of the Turiec Gallery. The basis of the exhibition, set up in 1991, consists of the documentary and creative hereditaments of the artist (donated by his widow Mrs Maria Galandova).
The exhibits on view refer to the life and work of M. Galanda (1895 - 1938) - a founder personality of Slovak modern fine art in an authentic milieu.
  • Jan Kollar Museum
The Jan Kollar Museum is dedicated to the life and work of this native of Mosovce, a foremost representative of the national-awakening movement of the Slovak nation, an advocate of a panslavonic and Czecho-Slovak mutuality. From a fire that destroyed his native house, the granary alone was saved and houses the exhibition proper. We may see here facsimilae of the poet's manuscripts, a book edition of his famous Slovdom's Daughter and of his Narodne spievanky (or National Songs), documents to his life and correspondence with friends.
  • Karol Plicka Museum Blatnica
The Karol Plicka Museum is branch exhibition of the Slovak National Museum - Ethnography Museum at Martin. The exhibition is installed in the Late-Baroque Prónay chateau from the 1st half of the 18th century. It deals with the life and work of the eminent art photographer, film producer, ethnographer, folklorist and teacher Karol Plicka (1894-1987) and particularly with his relation to the values of Slovakia's traditional folk culture. It is open since 1988. The SNM - EM has been gathering the artist's fund since 1986.
