  • Castle of Trencin
    The dominant of Trenčín and whole Middle-Váh-Valley (Považie) keeps guard over the old mercantile routes connecting the Mediterranean area with the Baltic and North Europe.   • The Museum of Trenčín
    The Museum of Trenčín is a cultural and scientific institution with a regional activity and with over a 120-year old history. Its predecessor was the Natural Scientific Alliance of Trenčín County, established in 1877. Having united to the Museal Society in 1912, thus the Trenčín Museum originated. Its first chairman became the doctor Karol Brančík, a county doctor and enthomologist with an international significance. In spite of its own natural scientific traditions, the Museum is a type of homeland science. It possesses and administers the funds of historical, art-scientific, natural scientific, literature-historical or ethnologic character.   • M.A. Bazovsky Gallery Trencin
    The Gallery of Milos Alexander Bazovsky in Trencin is advantageously situated in the centre of Povazie and it arose in 1969, it is an interesting centre by its geography and culture. It bears its name after the Natlonal Artist M. A. Bazovsky (1899 - 1968), an outstanding Slovak painter living the last years of his withering and varied Iife in Trencin (1962 - 68).
    Architecturally imposing spaces from the Baroque Piorist monastery have become the seat of gallery (1653 - 57). They have been reconstructed and brought into contemporaneous shape in the year 1973 - 1979. The orientation towards visual arts of 20 th century has been clear at the beginning of this gallery not only in regional, but also in worldwide connections.
  • The Lower City Gate
    The six floor Gothic tower of the city gate was built around the begining of the 15th century on a square foundation. Originally, it was a two story structure, with its passage roofed by a pointed Gothic arch. During the first quarter of the 17th century, the gate was updated in the Renaissance style, a third floor was added in an octogan shape.
    Damaged during the besiege of the castle by Katzianer, the gate in 1543 – 1549 was reconstructed, erected higher and fortified by the semicilcular barbican with a lower front bastion.....
