    The Nitra Gallery in Nitra was founded in 1965. Since 1965 the gallery is based in the former zhupa house which is a cultural monument and is a part of the urban monument reserve. This baroque building was constructed in 1784 on earlier foundations and in 1874 rebuilt into neo-baroque style according to projects of the architect Dümmler.     It was built in the 11th century and consists of several parts. The core of the Castle is the cathedral with the adjacent Bishops residence.
    The oldest surviving part of the Cathedral is the Romanesque church of St Emeram from the 11th or 12th century.     The Castle of Levice
    The Castle is the most important dominant of the town Levice. It is from the end of the 13th century. It stands on top of volcanic rock protuberance above the swamps of the Hron river. It was the sentry fort guarding the road leading to central Slovakian mining towns. Ruins of a Gothic castle, which was build in the beginning of 13th century. It was rebuilt in a Renessaince style in 16th century. The castle was destroyed in 18th century. Nowadays, Tekov museum is located in preserved parts of the castle.
